Audience research

So with my audience research I decided  to look at yougov.com with this I decided to put nike into it and it says that it is the 5th most popular fashion and clothing brand and they have asked what is nike and they say it is very cool,attractive,stylish and good quality now what I get from this is that people who get nike clothing is a lot about how stylish it is and I will have to do that with what I am doing so people will go to the nike website also on this website you can see is that 61% had a positive opinion but 10% was negative and 99% of the people who went on this website have heard of nike showing that it is a worldwide brand and that also shows that is a very good company to do because it will already have a audience and this will help me because I will get more people to the company of nike.

This website also shows that in the people that they are most popular with Millennials which in that group that has 66% of that group had a good response to the Nike clothing brand also it is the 3rd popularity with that age group where if you put that up with Generation X where there is 65% and that is is 4th with popularity ranking among that group also with the another age group it is a 8th ranking with that age group so that shows I should focus on the millennials and generation x ages because Nike is most popular in taht age group so I will have to focus on them groups more then older groups because they do not seem to be into nike as much as Millennials and Generation x so you would focus on them more

Now it shows that nike is more popular with women then men but only just as you can but also the postive opinion was 64% compared to 58%  but also as you can see the popularity where in women is the 6th most popular where in the men group it is the 4th most popular with them which shows that it does get postive response but it is more popular for men then women.

Final reflection on 60 seconds doc.

so for this project we had to make a 60 seconds doc on a person who we had to interview and get to know about them so with is I decided to do my friend which is in my class and Ihave done this because also with college he does music on the side and I wanted to know how he is dealing with them hen he has work and making music at the same time.

So for the first bit of this project I decided to do research on existing people who have done 60 seconds doc before and I have done research on a few of them to see how they record there 60 seconds doc so with this I notice that it is all handheld to make the audience feel like they are there so that has helped me because I have decided to make it handheld so the audience would feel like they are there and also how many soundbites you put into a 60 seconds doc so with the research I done they did not put in many soundbites because you have to remember that it is only a 60 seconds doc so you do not have that much time and when I was doing research it showed the reason it was 60 seconds because that a video on instagram is 60 seconds so that is the most time they have to do it because they put the videos on instagram which are 60 seconds so that is why they are 60 seconds also with the research I have done some on people you had influence on how to record with the camera work and what impact they had on people which did help me because I could take some of the ways they do stuff and put it into mine 60 seconds doc which i did in the film work and how they done it. I had to make primary research for my 60 seconds doc which you can see in the blogs that I have done for this project now with the primary research I found it easy to do because I knew the person I was interviewing and get the thoughts of him if he could answer the questions for my 60 seconds doc and this helped me because with him being a friend of mine I could ask him if it is fine asking them questions so this would make it easier so it is less awkward in my interview and also ask him why he started and I can easily have the 60 seconds doc going in the direction I want so what I mean by that is what I want to find out about him in the 60 seconds that I have.

So I then decided to plan how I was going to record the 60 seconds doc and what questions I am going to have in it which you can see in blogs which I have done for this project so  this helped me doing  the plans I knew what shots I wanted to make n the 60 seconds doc so it would be easier for me to record with knowing what I want to do when it comes to recording the 60 seconds doc and why I have done it this way so with the planning of it I have decided that in the first few seconds that you will not know what the interviewee looks like ut i the next shot you would find out what he looks like I have done this because in most 60 seconds doc that I seen they have done this in there 60 seconds doc and I like the way they have done it as well also with the planning stage of the interview questions I wanted to find out how he balances his music with college so I was asking questions about that how he does it and what he wants to gain from the music which he is doing also the project schedule helped me because it kept me on time and when I needed to do stuff by so like the research when I had to finish it and go onto the planning which helped me because I would need enough time to edit the 60 seconds doc after recording it.

So with the recording stage of this project I decided the I was going to do the interviews by college lockers so it has the feel that we are in college but he is speaking about music so it shows that he is trying to do both of them at the same time so that is why I decided to film there and also at first I was looking for a room ti film but could not find time for when I was recording the interview but I decided to get a few shots of him walking around the college which you can see in my final edit of the 60second doc I done this handheld so when the audeince watch it they will feel like they are thermals with the questions I asked I wanted my target audience to connect with the person I interviewed with the questions I asked so that is why I have asked questions like what do you want to get from it and also what have you gain from it and why did he start so people would feel like they understand him and can realte to him when they are watching the 60 seconds doc so that is why I have picked the questions that I did.

So with the editing stage of the project at first I was going to edit in the edit room in college but then I did not have enough time and I had a  problem with getting the interview and recording I have done of the camera and onto the computer because when I try and get them they would not show so I had to get a wire to put into the camera and then link it to the computer so I could get them off so I done that then seen that I did not have enough time to edit on this computer that I was on so I made a file and then got a pen drive put the file onto the pen drive then went back to the classroom and put it on there and then opened iMovie because it was easy to edit on iMovie so with the editing I decided to slow down the first clip when he is saying who it is because I have seen that before in other 60 seconds doc then I put in a clip of him rapping because it shows what it is about and what he does then I start with the questions but I had to leave out a few questions because if I did not then it would not of been a 60 second doc and also I put the questions over when he was walking around college in my 60 seconds doc because I have seen that to as well but I did find the post production stage hard because of the time I had to do it in but the editing software that I used was very easy and effective in what I was trying to do and I made the right decision in picking that one with the time I had for this project to edit.

so in conclusion I think the whole project went very well and all the stages that I have had to do really helped me with making the 60 seconds doc and I would not change who I interviewed because he was very good to interview and people can get to know him and with the feedback I got it showed that it had that effect on people because they said they like the questions and the 60 seconds doc and also liked the camera work of the 60 seconds doc and the development of the idea really helped me at the start because I knew what I was going to do for this project and had a plan all the way through the project and did not change half way through but the research did help me when I was recording the 60 seconds doc because I knew what shots I was going to do and how but with the questions help me as well with what I wanted to know from the person I was interviewing but overall I think this project went very well with what I wanted to do and I am happy on how it turned out in the end of this project.

Final Reflection for interactive media

For my project I decided to do a website for my project for interactive media I have made a website on wix but first I had to decided on what website designer to make it on so I decided to do it on wix because I have used that website designer before so I went with that because it would be easier for me to create it on that with the deadline coming up because I already know how to use the website and how to create but with that the website I am creating was a fashion website but at first it was going to be a fashion website where they bought clothes from the site but I had to make a store for that so then I decided that I am going to pick a few items from stores and then put information on the stores I have picked for the website so with that I decided to do some research on websites which are already out there that are fashion websites and how they set out there website and how that would help me so with the Givenchy website it showed me how photos can be interactive as well as long as the tabs and also how it should be easy to get around the website when a person goes on there because people can not be bothered to look around and figure that out which I found out in my research also at first I decided to do a questionnaire so I can see what people liked about a website and what they would want to see on the website this helped me because it shows what my target audience wanted from this website which did help me in when I had to make the website because I knew what people wanted to see on the website.

So with the the research I decided to do primary research which was a questionaire and also voice recording people and asking them questions on websites which are like the one I wanted to make for my project so with the research it showed me what people liked and disliked about website so with if it is hard to look around on a website people would click off the website so I decided to make it very simple when they are on the website so that is what I had to do because then you would loose audience from the website which is important also with the secondary research on what I had to do with copyright issue with the website and if I put something which is not mine what I would have to do so I done this by putting copyright issue in google so I put that in and the copyright issue for websites came up from the uk and us knowing that I am doing it in uk I only needed the uk copyright issues so I decided to take a screenshot which you can see in a previous blog also by putting this in it helped me because you can use a image in the uk if it is not traded marked by the person who owns it so it helped me that way because I could still use photos from other people they can not be trademarked by the person also I learned what font they would normally do on a website and I also seen that most of the websites which I have seen they all used was black and white for there set out because it seems like it was very simple for them to use and that is why I decided to do the website that colour because it was also seem that fashion websites seem to use that because they do not want to over complicate the website because it is a fashion website which people want to come and see if they wanted something so knowing that I could not do a store I decided to do a information which I have said before in this blog but it would be where if people can not find something on a website they come to the website which I made and come and click on the links to other websites which they could be on and I also decided to do a page on information on the brands or shops which I have decided to put on the website I done this because people would want to know who they are buying of and where did they come if they were interested in the company which they are also decided to show what you can get from the websites I have done this so if anyone sees what they like they can click onto it so it goes to the place where you can buy them so you do not even need to go on the website it takes you straight to the item you want I have done this because people like connivance now in websites which is shown in the research I have done in other blogs early on in the stage in this project.

so as you can see with the screenshot above I had problem linking the clothing business as you can see because I forgot how to hyperlink on this website I did not know how to find it and this came up when I first tried to hyperlink the websites also so I went to the tabs on the side which it was there when I went to media on this website and it then you click on the link and a paperclip would come up and then you would put the link in it and then it would work so that is how I found out how to hyperlink on this website but I did have a small problem which I had to figure out for this website. also I decided to hyperlink shoes and clothes to where you can go and buy the shoe and you would not have to go on th website go straight to the shoe I have done this because it is easy for the person coming onto the website and also if they like the shoe they can go straight to it and buy it which goes back to helping the audience with what they want and that is what I wanted the website to be when i knew I could not do a store.

so with the problem was if people could not find what they wanted they could go to my website if they did not know to look for they could do this and this website would help them with finding clothes which they like they can just click on the the photo and it will go straight to that item which they would want so it is helping them pick clothes which they like and do not have to go through other clothes to find that one and I am just eliminating that for the person who is looking so that was the problem I am helping with this website.

So with the banner that I did it was a sale banner so I made that so then I decided if you did click on the banner it would take you to a sale on a website and I added that because I thought it would be a good idea because it would help people also if they were looking for a sale and that is what they would go for and that is why I decided to do that also got good feedback on the website which how it was simple to get around and also the colour scheme of the website and liked the links of on the photos and the banner which they can click on it so it is very simple for them and I am taking the middle bit for them with doing that so they do not have to go through a lot of clothes and look they can come to this website and do it this way and that is what I wanted.

So in conclusion with this project I find it very good to do and helping with a problem for people who have one also helped me with another project on what to make for my unit 6 because I needed something on my homepage and I could create that for this website so from the start with the research it helped me with what the website would be like what colour it would be which I found out that it is mostly black and white to keep it very simple for a fashion website also it helped me with the target audience because as you can see in the blogs I have done it shows what my target audience would want to see in the website which why I decided to do it black and white because the target audience said that they liked the colour of the websites which I shown to them also what I learned from my target audience is that they wanted links to the clothes which you see in the photo so that is why I have done that as well  also with the research it helped me with the font because I needed to know how big it was going to be for the website because I needed to know this because I did not want it to be too big for the website and then it would not fit which I learned that by looking at other websites which are already out there so it helped me with that also the sketches did help me with this project because I had a baseline to go off when I was making the website in wix which it helped me because I had something to go of and it was not just in my head and then the creating of the website was good because I found it easy to use besides at the start when I could not find out how to hyperlink which I did find out on my own which you can see in the screenshot so I think this project went very well and I am glad the way the website came out in the final form and I think it went very well for this project I have also decided to post the screenshots of the website which I have made so you can see what I was talking about in this blog.

FINAL REFLECTION ON UNIT 6

So for my project for unit 6  I had to think of a problem  which was that I had to make a website banner for a fashion website which will need a banner on it so then I decided to use affinity designer for the website banner but first I had to do some research on previous website banners which was on websites so when I was doing research a lot of the websites which was similar to the website which the banner is for I done this so it does fill it purpose for being a banner for a website which you can see in previous blogs which I have done so the research helped me with the idea and the colour palette even with the research and how big the font will be on the banner so with the colour palette was white on black so it stands out and also white on red which I seen from the research that I have done which helped me with what colour which I was going to do because it narrowed it down for me which what I liked more which I did like black and white more which you can also see in the questions I asked my target audience to decided which one I was going to do to see what they liked more and also which would go onto the website which it is for

I had to do sketches for this project because it helped me when I came to affinity designer because I would have a idea but with this idea when I was in affinity designer was to gradient overlay which fades the colour out so I decided to do this because first of all it suited the website which it is for so it helps me with that and also that it looks better when I was in affinity and if I did do the other banner then it would not go with the website which it is for and the project would not go to plan because that is what it is for and I have taken a screenshot of when I done it so I went on effects and it said gradient overlay so when I clicked on it a bar came up with this and I did not change this bar I just clicked on it and it added the effect to the banner I made with affinity designer.

So when I first went onto to affinity designer I opened this tab I done this because I needed it to be the same size of a normal banner which goes back to my research where I needed to find out how big a banner  would be for a website so then once I did found out I put in affinity designer so it would be to scale of if it would be on a website so when I do finally do it and if I did not do this it would be not for a website so it would not help the problem which  I have which was to make a banner for a fashion website which I think I have done this very well because with the banner it would go on the front page of the website so it would have to stand out because the person who comes onto the website will see it first and I have put it onto the website and I think it goes very well with the website and also got some feedback by asking what do you think of the banner for this website and with the feedback  I have had they have all said they have liked the colour palette of the banner and how it went with the website which it is for so that is the problem I had was if it would fit the website it is for.

So when I had to put the stars on the banner and had to size them up and put them white on the black background so they stand out and do not blend in with the background I have also done that will the circle I put that white but the words black so it stands out and I also put that on because it is the logo of the website which it is for also with the banner and had to put a sale on the banner and with that I had to think on what font I was going to do but I also put that white so it does not blend in with the background as well so with the font I had to do research on the font size what I put on the banner so the people can see it but it is not too big for the banner it self also how I done this was by putting the circle on the black so it would turn black or what colour I wanted it to be which did help me because it was very simple to use for me and understand with the research stage of this project helped me because what colour it was going to be and how big the font will be which did help me with making the banner for the fashion website which I thought it must have the fashion website logo on the banner so it shows where the banner is and who made it so that is why I have decided to put the logo onto the banner and the website needed something on the banner which shows it is for them.

Now I decided to take a photo of what I have used to create the banner and how I have done them so as you can see I have a few stars which was one both of the sides of the sale and I also put a circle but that was on the top of the banner with the name of the website which it is for in then decided to do a sale for the website where people would come and get sales from the shops that are linked that is why I have decided to put sale on the banner so then done research on sale banners which did help me with it and at first I did have a problem with figuring out how to get the text on the banner in affinity designer so then I had to look around with trying to find it but it was very easy in the end to find the text on affinity designer. so going back to the banner when I changed it to gradient overlay the banner I then decided to see what would come up if I did put that in for research so what came up was what colour palettes I could use for it so my banner was black and white so I decided to go with that and why I have picked the colours also was because a lot of fashion websites also have black and white theme so the website I was doing it for was going with the theme of other websites.

So in conclusion for my project for unit6 I think this project went good but at first it was hard to use affinity designer because I have not used that before but once I got hold of how to use it I found it very good to use also with this project it helped me fix a problem which I had for another one of my classes where I was making a website and I needed something to go on the website which did help me with that because now I had something to go on the website also the anaylise of unit 6 for my project did change a bit at the start and had to fit it to what I was doing in affinity designer but it did help me throughout this project because it kept me on a plan of what I am going to do for this project the next stage that helped me a lot was the research because without it I would not of known what my target audience wanted without that or even what colour to make it also in this project I decided to do sketches of what the banner is going to go like this helped me a bit but what I made in affinity designer was better then my plan and I did change the banner a bit when I was using it because it did look better then what I thought of at first also that it had o go with the website which it was for. So the feedback what I got from my target audience was very good feedback from the people I have asked about he colour scheme of the banner and the font that I have use. but overall I think this project has been good from the start to the end of this project which i did find it god do as well and enjoyed figuring out a problem which was what to put on a website page and what they needed so I think I have done that very well which you can see the final banner below which I am pleased on how it came out for my project.

So I have decided to add to it to make it more suitable with adding the clothes on the banner which you can see above and also I added 3D to the stars to make it better then previous one which you can see above with the changes I have made

Primary research for interactive media

So I have decided to get some primary research so one I can see what my audience would want to see on my website so I have decided to do a questionnaire so I can get understanding of what they think and what they like to see on a interactive website so in one of the questions is would you like to see info on the clothes that I have picked and they have all said yes so with that I know that I am gong to be putting clothes on my website because of the questions I have asked also asked what do you like most about interactive website so most of them said they like interactive photos which you can see from the screenshots below so with this I know that I am going to be putting interactive photos because of the questions I have asked and this shows me that this is very useful to me because of what I have gained from this because it shows what I should put only website which I am making also what type of clothes what they would like to see helped me because I know what they would be looking for in a website 

Treatment for 60 seconds doc

Angle of the story (Purpose): the purpose of the 60 seconds doc is to get to know the person so what is his ambitions and how can he balance music with education.

Target Audience: my target audience for this project will be 16 to 19 year olds this is because they type of music which he does will be towards them and also they can relate to the questions being asked with eduction

Client/Duration: Dylan Samuels the duration will be 60 seconds long

Synopsis: the idea is to get to know my client and why he started so people can get to know why he started and also people to get to know him and also it is exposure for him and people will be able to understand where him and can relate to Dylan when they are watching the 60 seconds doc also people that wil like his music will watch this 60 seconds doc and also people that will want to learn how to rap as well will watch it so they can get skills from him and also what you can get out of the music industry.

Suggested Elements: the style of the 60 seconds doc will be some soundbites in the 60 seconds doc but not a lot and then it will be of him walking around college and then some of how he makes his music then some of him freestyling and I will be using his music which he has allowed me to use with his permission also I have been allowed to use him for my interviewee.

 

Archive:  Dylan has allowed me to use him for the interview for my 60 seconds doc also the visual side it will be medium speed with the shots that I am going to be using also the interviews I have decided to make questions for him to answer and done enough for the whole 60 seconds doc.

• 0. Research:Background Research: now with the research I had to do background research on my artist so that means I had to know when he started making music and why did he start which you can see in previous blogs with the research I have done so I know the ambition of the person I am interviewing in the music which he wants to do.
  1.  Schedule:Constraints and Contingency planning: with the planning I have decided to do research the first two weeks of this project then plan the 60 second doc so I do not go in there without a plan like questions for the person I am interviewing so the interview does not get stuck then after that I will record the 60 seconds doc and then edit it but the final thing I will  do is reflect on the 60 second doc and get feedback from my target audience.

copyright issues

the copyright issues of which I will have with the website is if I can use photos or videos which do not belong to me one way of getting around copyright issues is that you can create your own images for the website so there’ll be no copyright issues with that because I have done them on my own so they will be my own also if Ido decided to use another persons photos for my website I would have to link them so they could not put a copyright claim and put down my website,so which you can see below I have decided to do some research on the copyright laws in the uk and then decided to click on a websites which showed the laws to the us and uk copyright laws but I only needed the uk copyright laws because I am making the website in uk also in this it shows that it is similar to the us laws that it protects the work which you have done now if I wanted to use a companies logo on my website i could use it unless it was trademarked by the company which the logo is for so you can use logos on my website also with the copyright issue you might not be able to use a video because the creator of the video would not allow other users to ushers product also the people which you have used there images called call up and get the website taken down which would be another problem if you was to use another persons image another way to use another persons images that is not yours is to get into contact with the person and ask if you can use there image.
